SPECIFIC STATEMENT REGARDING XINJIANG:
At Charles Tyrwhitt we pride ourselves on the quality of our product proposition. We scour the globe to find the best partners to manufacture our products and demand the highest standards in quality and ethical production (see below for our full ethical trading policy). Our shirts require a specific, high quality, long staple cotton fibre to produce cotton fabrics that meet our requirements. This can only be sourced from a limited number of locations in China, US and Egypt. 20% of the world’s cotton supply is produced in China and within that over 60% of the world’s long staple cotton supply is grown in Xinjiang.
We work closely with our suppliers to ensure that forced labour is not being used within our supply chain. We do not source any cotton from the Xinjiang region.
Charles Tyrwhitt expects all products to be manufactured in conditions that are not detrimental to the goods, or harmful to those people working with the products.
Although not a member of the ETI, Charles Tyrwhitt ethical policy is based on the base code of the ETI to ensure fair working conditions and practices for all those involved in the supply of our products. Detailed below is the Charles Tyrwhitt Ethical Trading Policy.
